Barbara does an amazing job with each story that she gives us and this is one of my new favorites. Nicholas and Mira are betrothed since birth. Their relationship started as friends which quickly turned to love but an unexpected turn ripped them apart. They were no longer to be wed.She was to wed another. 7 years later both fell to society are reunited. With Nicholas's title being questioned because of family disgrace and Mira with a past filled with abuse & secrets, will these two be able to have the love they once had?This story pulls at your heart strings. You find yourself praying that these two will find a way to forget the past and have the happiness they deserve. With the help of new friends by their side they will try to overcome the past and regain the love they once had.

Usually behind every vicious person there is a story Almira was sold at the tender age of 16 and made to do all manner of disgusting things for a man 3 times her age. Nicholas world has fallen apart with a dead father and brother who killed and maimed and did all kinds of horrible things. They loved each other from childhood, I understood that. I struggled with the easy forgiveness of Dalton, his wife and the other Bretheren. Also was a little skeptical of how Nicholas used Almira before and was sleeping with her after her horrible husband died then wanted to marry her?? Hmm but I love this series. I loved the epilogue where they do get and keep their HEA after surviving the worst of the TON.
I'm running out of ways to express how much I love this author and all of her characters. This time Barbara Devlin has set out to capture our hearts and wring a tear or two. A story about abuse, regret, and second chances, Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me will take you on an emotional ride you won't soon forget. Readers familiar with Devlin's Brethren series will be happy to see a few familiar characters here doing what they do best... playing matchmakers and acting like overgrown children.
Betrothed since birth, Nicolas and Almira believed they would be together forever. Their young love could not be denied. Until their engagement was unscrupulously broken and she is given to a much older, evil man instead. For years Mira suffered at the hands of this monster until she was finally free. But can she ever be truely free of the evil that surrounded her for so many years? Or will the repricussions follow her for the rest of her life and ruin her last chance at happiness with the one man she has ever really loved? These are the things that played over in my head as I was reading. Nicholas went from the sweet, playful young man to the broken, callous jerk that no one in polite society would associate with, then apparently back to the sweet guy we got a glimpse at in the beginning. I so wanted things to work out between these two characters. And if ever they stood a chance, the Brethren and the Brethren wives had to get involved. I absolutely love reading about these characters. Their quirky sense of humor, their abiding love for family, friends, and each other makes every story a joy to read. Mira and Nicholas were a wonderful addition the the Brethren family and I hope to see glimpses of them in future Brethren books.

Always an excellent story, and a good page turner. I was interested in these two characters and wanted to know what happened to them.
Wonderful story. A love story with a little heartbreak. But the heartbreak turns into a very sweet story. B. Devlin always writes great books. I get so excited when a new one comes out
Brethren of the Coast is one of my all time favorite series. This latest addition to the series contains all the elements that have made this series so great. Handsome hero, brave heroine action and adventure. Best of all is that the main characters of each book in the series are always woven into the current plot, offering advice and aid when needed and a hearty dose of hilarity in the process. Enjoy!
