I was a little miffed by the fit Zoe was throwing at first in the book. What did she expect? She cheated on Boggs with Gus, betraying her friend, Em and Boggs. She didn't tell Boggs until later in the book that Gus and her had a brief affair.I was saddened by the deaths of Em, Zoe and Boggs baby, Molly, and Jane. I kind of understood having to kill Em off so the author could put Zoe and Gus together, but found I was upset by the death of Jane. Maybe it was because she was a small child, but it didn't seem fair she died. Then when Molly, Zoe's baby died, I just wanted to quit reading. It just didn't seem fair. I know zombie world isn't fair or right.
I am still liking the turn the author is doing with the zombies. Now at the end of the book, Zoe feels a presence that isn't runner or roamer zombies. This is something new, smarter, and more evil than can be imaged. It actually gave me the chills.
I like this series and this book so far is my favorite despite the deaths. I highly recommend this book and series to anyone who likes zombies and romance.

I cannot stop reading this series. The story evolves so fast and there is no way I can not buy the next book.
Geez.... this book was too dang good to be over so soon. It had felt as though I had just begun to read it but then I realized I had actually started a few hours ago. When that happens you know you just experienced a good read.
Even better than the first two books. This author has a serious hit on her hands. I love this series and the characters. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!! I laughed, cringed and cried. What a wild ride of a read.
I've read the first two books in this series, and I loved them.
I actually read book 1 and 2 in one day. As well as most of this one.
I just finished it and there is one thing that just annoys me. *SPOILER ALERT*
She gets pregnant at the end of book one. All through book 2 and a good half of 3 the author makes a big deal out of this pregnancy.
Baby is developing way faster than normal. The dead talk about how it is theirs. 1 kind of zombie even fights and kills another to keep her safe because she is pregnant with the baby.
Then she has it and it dies overnight and they bury it. No more baby.
Why the heck did the author make such a big deal out of this pregnancy and child for nothing?
Why build the audience up thinking this child is going to be something special and then it's absolutely nothing.
Other than that(which to me was a big thing, since the baby had so much importance through book 2 and 3)the book was just as good as book 1 and 2.
The whole baby thing was a big killer on rating for me though.
Great writing and we'll edited. That was quite the cliffhanger that Lauryl left four is readers there at the end. I look forward to the next installment!
I am hooked! I love this series and stayed up all night reading books 3 & 4 and can't wait for book 5 to come out. I already pre-ordered it. I like how things happen to the main characters unexpectedly in that they aren't always the ones to make it through the zombie situations. The author writes so well that you get attached to the characters. I was a bit ticked at one for a bit and felt so bad for another, but then as the events continued the author had me liking the new situations created. (I don't want to be too specific so that I don't spoil anything!) I highly recommend this book (and all of the books in this series), whether you are into zombies or not! This book does get pretty detailed in the gory details of the zombies, but it is a zombie book, right?
